Each of our faculty members has the passion and a keen sense of divine calling to hone children according to faith in biblical principles. They serve as the models in what they teach and have passed through the rigorous employment process which Cape Christian Academy implements.

John Spriggs


Mr. John Spriggs

Mr. Spriggs has been the school Administrator at CCA since 2008. Before that, he taught Mathematics and Computers at Cape Christian Academy. He is excited about the growth here at school, especially the spiritual growth seen in each of the children. His favorite Bible verse is James 4:8 which says “Draw close to God and He will draw close to you.” The Spriggs family attends Cape Island Baptist Church.

Ruth Rosenberg

Mrs. Ruth Rosenberg

In addition to being the Director of our Early Learning Center, Mrs. Rosenberg also works as a Director for our summer camp program and teaches several high school classes. She considers it a blessing and a joy to see her children grow and develop in both their faith and their knowledge of the world around them. “The students at CCA are awesome and their desire to learn is contagious.” In her free time, she is busy with her church and loves traveling with family and friends. The Rosenberg family attends Cape Island Baptist Church.

Ms. J has been teaching early childhood education since 1999. She has a Bachelor’s in Business Management and a certification in Child Development. Ms. J loves teaching and helping others. She regularly assists others with the food pantry at Angel Visit Baptist Church of Wildwood. Her favorite bible scripture is Psalm 23.

Mrs. Jennifer Forte

“Miss Cookie” has a real heart that loves to teach and help each student as an individual learning experience. She enjoys smiles and laughter and singing songs with students. She works along with Ms. J whom she admires and feels blessed to have such great coworker. Miss Cookie lives to make artwork for any special occasion and tinkers often in painting and crafts in her spare time. She has held Bible study at her former home for young teens for well over 10 years and hopefully will regain a bible study group here in Cape May County since she is a new resident in New Jersey. She was once a police officer and a talented hair and make-up artist for many movies. Her favorite Bible verse is 1 Corinthians 13:4 which says “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.”

Francesca Blackman

Ms. Fran is our Pre-K teacher for the Early Learning Center. She has been teaching for twenty-two years and has a passion for teaching. She has been married to her husband George for forty years and has two sons and eight grandchildren. Ms. Fran is the director of children’s church at Christ Gospel Love Center and her favorite scripture is Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens me.”

Miss Crystal Purfield

Miss Purfield loves the scriptures and incorporating them into her class and classroom activities. She enjoys watching students develop their reading and math skills and in their relationship with Jesus Christ. She loves reading a good book and her Bible in her spare time. Miss Purfield attends Covenant Presbyterian Church in Erma.

Rhoda Piccirilli

Miss Rhoda Piccirilli

A veteran teacher at CCA of 18 years, Miss Piccirilli is also an equestrian riding instructor at a local farm. She enjoys exercising at the gym or taking long walks on the beach. She also loves playing miniature golf with her five-year-old nephew. At school, she is grateful for the freedom to teach the Bible and to be able to incorporate biblical instruction through all the disciplines. Her favorite scripture is Romans 5:8 which outlines God’s plan for salvation, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” She attends Central Bible Church in Wildwood.

Miss. DeWald is our 2nd Grade teacher. She is excited to share her knowledge and love for God with her students. She is motivated to teach and help her students grow in Christ. In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis, scrapbooking, baking, and spending time with family. Her favorite scripture is 2 Corinthians 5:7 “For we live by faith, not by sight.” Mrs. DeWald attends Cape Community Church.

Miss Loretta Carey

Ms. Carey is our 4th teacher. Ms. Carey has over 30 years experience in early education and she has a passion and love for teaching. She is blessed and honored that she can freely teach the Bible and incorporate biblical principles through all subjects to her students. Her favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5-6 which says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.” Ms. Carey works with the children’s church and loves to pray and witness with her students and parents and parents of the power and goodness of Jesus. During her free time, you can find her listening to gospel music and studying God’s work. Ms. Carey is the mother of two beautiful young adult children and has four grandchildren. Her family and her Savior are her world.

Rhonda Harrison

Mrs. Rhonda Harrison

With degrees in Bible and Elementary Education, Rhonda loves to watch her students transition from childhood to adolescence. As a teacher, she is always looking for ways to apply biblical values to each subject that is taught. Prior to teaching at CCA, she home-schooled her five children for 17 years through 8th grade when they transferred to Cape Christian Academy. In her free time, she enjoys playing games and sharing a meal with family and friends as well as listening to Christian music. Regarding a favorite scripture, Mrs. Harrison said, “All God’s word is so amazing.” The Harrisons attend Maranatha Church.

Mrs. Deanne Gipple

Mrs. Gipple feels blessed to be here at CCA teaching our students who inspire her and make her smile. She has her BS degree in Chemistry from Stockton University. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.” Proverbs 3:5-6 are Mrs. Gipple’s favorite Bible verses. Her son, Chase, attends CCA and her husband, Don, substitute teaches for CCA. The Gipple’s attend Seashore Community Church of the Nazare.

Pastor DeVol is the pastor of First Baptist Church of Cape May Court House. His family recently moved to Cape May County. He loves being a part of the school and mentoring students in the Bible and in life.

Mr. Don Gipple

Mr. Gipple has been with CCA since 2015 in a part-time teaching capacity. He has taught History, the Bible, and PE, and coaches the Baseball team. He is a Sergeant with the NJDOC and a member of Erma Volunteer Fire Company. He is a member of Seashore Community Church of the Nazarene where he serves as a Caravan teacher and on the Tech ministry team. His favorite verse is Micah 6:8 “Act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God.”

Mrs. Genevieve Huff

Mrs. Huff is our Kindergarten teacher. She is motivated to teach the Truth and help her students develop integrity and Godly character. Her favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11, which encourages us, saying, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Outside of school she is active in her church children’s ministry and leads a young women’s prayer group. She loves spending time with family, doing crafts, playing guitar, and attending theater productions. The Huff family attends Second Cape May Baptist Church in Marmora.

Mrs. Debbie Devitt

Mrs. Devitt brings 28 years of library experience to Cape Christian
Academy. Originally she came on board to organize the school library,
and stayed on to become the school librarian. She loves making reading
come alive to young children. In her free time, Mrs. Devitt enjoys
participating in a ladies Bible study, gardening and buying books. She
and her husband Tom are members of First Baptist Church in Cape May
Court House. Her favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13.

Gail Pavlik

Mrs. Gail Pavlik

This is Mrs. Pavlik’s first full year of being a school nurse for Cape Christian Academy. She recently retired from Ridgefield Connecticut Public School District after 17 years as a school nurse for the middle school student population. Gail’s nursing background includes pediatric nursing for St. Mary’s Hospital for Children, Long Island, N.Y. and fifteen years working in the operating room as a CNOR (Certified Nurse-Operating Room). Upon retirement from school nursing, she wanted to continue to work part-time in the school nursing field and is very thankful that she discovered that CCA needed part-time nursing services. Mrs. Pavlik also is a substitute teacher for our Early Learning Center.

Niki Butler

Mrs. Niki Butler

Development Director

Mrs. Butler is our Director of Development. She is married with four children and moved to New Jersey in 2016 by way of military orders. Although her degree is in Health Administration, she feels blessed to have the opportunity to work where her children attend school. Her favorite scripture is Psalms 143:10, which says, “Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.” The Butlers attend Lighthouse Church.

Mrs. Jeanine Chambers

Part of the CCA family since her children were kindergarten students, she enjoys her important role in the school office. She and her husband have a cabin in Maine which they visit each summer. She also loves camping, collecting bells and nutcrackers, and annual visits to see the Nutcracker ballet each Christmas. Her favorite Bible verses are Psalm 116:1-2 which provide great comfort, “I love the Lord for He heard my voice; He heard my cry for mercy. Because He turned His ear to me, I will call on Him as long as I live.” The Chambers attend Court House Methodist Church.

Mrs. Hope was a teacher at CCA from 1996 until 2018. She likes Acts 20:24 which challenges us to “finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given- the task of testifying the good news of God’s grace.”
